AR & VR: #TheNextEvolution in Architecture, Engineering, Construction

About the Topic

As one of the earliest adopters of virtual reality and augmented reality technology, the AEC industry (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) has quickly demonstrated the power of spatial computing. It’s easy to consider the idea of pre-visualizing 3D buildings that don’t yet exist physically, but that is just one of the many ways VR & AR are being applied to the building trades. From conceptual design to construction documentation, investment evaluation, facilities management, and client sales of both new and existing spaces, virtual and augmented reality are now enhancing the capabilities of the entire industry, with new applications being introduced constantly. It’s easy to see why, when the business is all about physical space, the ability to visualize data in relation to physical space makes people’s jobs easier and more efficient.

What’s The Format:

5:30-6:00 – Demos and Networking
6:00-6:30 – Introductions & Welcome
6:30-6:40 – Architecture Overview
6:40-6:50 – Engineering Overview
6:50-7:00 – Construction Overview
7:00-8:00 – Panel Discussion and Q&A
8:00-8:30 – Networking & Demos

We start with informal networking and technology demonstrations, then host a panel discussion to answer audience questions, and we end with more networking and technology demonstrations. The conversation will start with a primary topic, but ultimately take us wherever it goes. We keep it simple and informal – this MeetUp is about you, our members, and not the host or presenters. Come and try some new technology, get your questions answered, and take your next step in XR Technology.
